SEN Information

Introduction

All Essex Local Authority (LA) maintained schools have a similar approach to meeting the needs of pupils with Special Educational Needs and are supported by the LA to ensure that all pupils, regardless of their specific needs, make the best possible progress in school.

All schools in the local area promote inclusion and attempt to ensure that all Special Educational Needs and Disabilities are met within mainstream provision where possible and appropriate to the pupil’s requirements and schools resources.

There are four main areas of need as outlined in the SEN Code of Practice 2014. They are: Communication and Interaction, Cognition and Learning, Social, Emotional and Mental Health Difficulties and Sensory and Physical Needs.

The School SEN Information Report

This report outlines the school’s approach to supporting pupils and their families with Special Educational Needs.

At Epping Primary School we believe that every child is unique and learns in their own way, this is especially true for pupils who have Special Educational Needs. We aim to ensure that a variety of teaching strategies as well as practical activities and resources are used to engage all pupils in their learning. We work together with parents/carers to ensure we are doing all we can to support your child in meeting their full potential.
